  1. Short:    Log file analyzer for use with various comm programs

  6. `phonebill' is, simply said, a log file analyzer. What it basically
  7. does is scan log file(s) generated by a terminal program or a mailer,
  8. extract all information about calls you have made by using your modem,
  9. and store this in its own (short) format. After extracting the calls
  10. `phonebill' can generate various reports in which you can find
  11. information on duration and costs of the calls.

  13. Here is a small list of the main features:

  15.  * Very flexible user-configurable rates, supporting exceptions for
  16.    certain days and dates. Handles fees and time units with up to 9
  17.    decimals (e.g. $1.2344657 dollars per 30.225678 seconds).

  19.  * User-configurable log scanners: `phonebill' by default supports
  20.    various log files, but for any log file that is not supported the
  21.    user is able to create a scanner. The following is a list of log
  22.    files that are already supported:

  40.  * Log files can be automatically truncated if their size exceeds the
  41.    maximum size.

  43.  * Generates miscellaneous reports: statistics, total costs, ....

  45.  * Context-sensitive online help.

  47.  * Requires Kickstart 2.04 or higher.

  49.  * Supports new 3.0 features (new look menus, ...).
